Our pioneering research in many novel areas of oncology discovery is the foundation for our future pipeline of products. Neo-angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels providing nutrients and oxygen to sustain tumor growth, is a desirable target for anti-cancer therapies. This field holds much promise in the development of new and effective anti-tumor agents.

Targepeutics is working to develop compounds to inhibit the angiogenesis of tumors across many solid tumors of various cancers including brain, breast, thyroid, colon and others in their advanced stages. Based on an exciting recent discovery by Dr. Debinski, one that uncovered a major mechanism for tumor progression involving angiogenesis, the Company looks to develop agents to block the specific players involved. These agents, alone or in combination with Targepeutics’ or traditional therapies, represent a broadening and exciting pharmaceutical platform for the Company.

Mechanism of Action
Several factors have been identified to play a critical role in the formation of new, tumor-associated blood vessels. The expression of these factors is greatly increased during tumor-induced blood vessel formation and subsequent tumor growth. These factors provide excellent new targets for anti-tumor therapies. Studies are in progress to identify the best approaches to inhibit or disable these factors and thus develop new effective anti-angiogenic treatment modalities.
